Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C Rechargeable Blind Motor
The Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C is a compact 2Nm rechargeable tubular motor designed to provide quiet, convenient motorisation for roller blinds up to 3 metres high × 3 metres wide.
Featuring 5V USB-C charging, an electronic limit switch, built-in receiver, adjustable speed and an integrated rechargeable battery system, the Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C provides a clean motorisation solution without requiring permanent mains power at the blind.
Its compact design and available fittings allow the motor to be used with a range of compatible 30–50mm diameter tubes, providing flexibility across different roller blind installations.
Compact 2Nm Motor
The Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C is specifically designed as a short motor while providing 2Nm of rated torque.
Alpha specifies a maximum lifting capacity of a roller blind up to:
3m high × 3m wide
This gives the Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C greater lifting capacity than the smaller 1Nm model while retaining a compact tubular design.
Motor suitability should always be confirmed against the complete blind configuration, including its dimensions, weight and tube.
5V USB-C Charging
The Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C uses a modern 5V USB-C charging connection.
Alpha specifies an ALDC 5V/1A charger, with the compatible ALDC 5V-C charger supplied with a 3-metre charging cable.
The charger connects directly to the motor head, avoiding the need to leave an external charging cable permanently attached to the blind.
Alpha also offers compatible USB-C extension cables in 20cm and 3m lengths where additional charging reach is required.
Intelligent Charging Built Into the Motor
An important feature of the Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C is that its charging intelligence is incorporated within the motor itself rather than relying on a third-party charger to manage the charging process.
The motor provides indications when charging is required and when charging has been completed, making it easier to maintain the rechargeable battery correctly.
Alpha recommends disconnecting the charger once the green indicator confirms that charging is complete.
Adjustable 25/30/35 RPM Speed
The Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C offers three selectable operating speeds:
25 / 30 / 35 rpm
This allows the motor’s operating speed to be adjusted to suit the installation and desired blind movement.
The adjustable speed gives installers and users greater flexibility than a motor restricted to one fixed operating speed.
Ultra-Quiet Operation
Alpha specifies ultra-quiet operation as a key feature of the Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C.
Reduced operating noise makes the motor particularly suitable for bedrooms, living areas, offices and other spaces where quiet blind operation is desirable.
Electronic Limit Switch
The Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C incorporates an electronic limit switch.
This allows the upper and lower stopping positions of the roller blind to be electronically configured so the motor knows where to stop during normal operation.
Electronic limits provide a convenient method of configuring blind travel without relying on traditional mechanical limit adjustment.
Built-In Receiver
A radio receiver is built directly into the Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C.
This integrated arrangement removes the need for a separate external receiver when the motor is used with compatible Alpha controls.
Alpha also specifies no aerials as a feature of this motor, helping maintain a clean installation around the motor head.
Patented Coreless Technology
The Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C incorporates Alpha’s patented coreless technology.
Together with its compact construction, rechargeable power system, adjustable speed and integrated receiver, this technology forms part of Alpha’s rechargeable tubular motor platform.
NEO App Control
The Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C supports NEO app control when incorporated into an appropriate compatible Alpha NEO system.
This allows the motor to form part of a connected motorised blind installation, adding app-based operation and automation capabilities when used with the required Alpha NEO equipment.
Solar Charging Option
Alpha lists the TYB004 3W USB-C Solar Panel as an accessory for the Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C.
Where suitable for the installation, a compatible solar panel can use available sunlight to contribute to maintaining the motor’s rechargeable battery.
Solar charging performance will naturally depend on the installation position, orientation, available sunlight and environmental conditions.

Lithium Battery Safety
The Alpha WSERD30-B 2/31C contains a rechargeable lithium battery and must be charged, stored and handled according to Alpha’s safety instructions.
Disconnect the charger once the green light indicates a full charge. Alpha warns that overcharging may lead to overheating and present a fire risk.
Do not expose the motor to high temperatures or prolonged direct sunlight. If unusual warmth, discolouration or odours are detected, disconnect the motor from its power source and stop using it.
Store the motor in a cool, dry location away from flammable materials. Alpha specifies a recommended storage temperature range of -20°C to +65°C.
Use the charger supplied with the motor or an approved replacement charger. Alpha warns that incompatible chargers can create safety hazards.
Lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of according to applicable local regulations and should never be incinerated or submerged in water.
Alpha recommends charging the motor every six months to maintain the battery and advises that children should not play with the motor or remote control.
